Green Valley and Tubac - The Communities We Serve...

The Community of Green Valley is located some 30 miles south of Tucson off of Interstate 19 in Pima County, Arizona. It is a rapidly growing retirement community of approximately 30,000 year around citizens. This population swells in the winter months to over 45,000 as many “snowbirds” flock in to enjoy the weather of this Southern Arizona hot spot.

The Firefighters of the Green Valley Fire District respond to more than 8,000 calls for service annually out of 4 stations. Those stations are staffed by a force of 51 Firefighters responding in 4 engine companies staffed by 4 Paramedics and EMTs.

Firefighters handle a vast array of emergencies including responding to a busy international thoroughfare, a mountain range world renowned by bird watchers, and 7 first class golf courses. For over 30 years the Citizens of the Green Valley Fire District have depended on Firefighters to respond quickly and efficiently in their time of need.



Represented by the GVFFA are members that include: the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Battalion Chiefs, Captains, Engineers, the Deputy Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector and Firefighters. 96% of the sworn staff of the GVFD is represented by the IAFF.



The Community of Tubac is located approximately 20 miles north of the international border with Mexico in Santa Cruz County.

The population of this artist’s community was placed at about 1100 residents in the 1999 Department of Commerce cenusus, and it is experiencing explosive growth as many people are discovering this gem in the rough. The Firefighters of the Tubac Fire District respond to more than 1000 calls annually. The firefighters respond on 2 engine companies and 3 ambulances out of 3 stations. Firefighters are trained to the Paramedic, I-EMT and EMT levels.
